One day mods will change that hopefully, if Square doesn't do it themselves one day. And in full release, if you want more challenge, don't character swap to Prompto or Ignis. It's more about a few major challenges here and there with most things being on the easy side. Not everyone likes to play post-game tho, since there's no more story then. Post game is actually where most of any challenge lies - a few of the dungeons, late stage Hunts can be pretty tough. Not using any food buffs is one way to make it a bit less easy. They really should have reduced xp gain or increased how much xp to level up, it's way way too fast.Įventually tho, gear is what's important - way more important than character level. If one is also getting all the better weapons as you go along, it's even easier. That said, the big issue is it's really easy to "over level" from doing all the Hunts/sidequests.
The game does get a bit harder - at least for new players unfamiliar with the ins and outs of the game.
